Bio

I've always liked small things and customizing my toys, but I got into miniatures via terrain modeling.

I studied Landscape Architecture during the transition between practical and digital modeling, so I gained familiarity with physical modeling techniques. In the ensuing years the pace and current of life pulled me away from the professional world of Landscape Architecture, but I still had a desire to craft natural beauty and to conserve found materials that I thought still had value.

As I fell deeper into the IG catacombs of miniature modelers and terrain builders it reinvigorated my childhood joy of customizing my toys, and realized I wasn’t the only one that envisioned extended universes for the collectibles on my shelves. Following inspiration and tutorials from IG, YouTube and beyond along with my natural proclivity for inventing things and solving problems I expanded my art to include scratch modeling, kit-bashing, and trash-bashing.

It's been really exciting to see this project [the Tiny Art Experiment] blossom over the years. I had no idea that I'd be contributing to an international exhibit when I started building my little trash-collector droid. To anyone of any age seeing this project or reading this bio I encourage you to follow your joy in life and do what makes you happy even if those around you don't understand. Through all of the inevitable ups and downs of life that have occurred since I got back to this hobby I've found that creating things has been the one constant and reliable source of satisfaction for me and I want everyone to find what that thing is for them.

Favourite Action Figure

I feel like I should mention some obscure toy from my childhood, but truthfully, I don't possess many of those at the moment, so I'll say the 6" Jyn Erso figure I got off ebay when I decided I'd give in to the urge to collect Star Wars Black Series figures and make cool new stuff for them.
